Cherish: The Truth

Cherish returns with their sophomore effort, The Truth and many are wondering if they deliver what it would take to make them the next biggest female group. Although the songs are listenable and mostly enjoyable, they still have yet to capture the attention of the masses.

The album opens up with the lead single "Killa" featuring Yung Joc. The song is definitely a stretch from the ATL sound that originally put them on the radar. Even though the uptempo record will grow on you and make you bounce, the ballads seem to be their strong suit. "Notice", "Amnesia" and "Before You Were My Man" showcases more of their vocals, even though they all end up sounding like one person on most of the backgrounds. The definite album highlight is "Love Sick". It tells a great story, is very relatable and gives you more depth as far as their unified sound.

Each song has a message and it really is all truth, but the album still falls short of making them the household names that they dream of. Definitely a solid effort, just nothing remarkable.
